Auction Leu 2020: Seleucis and Pieria. Antiochia on the Orontes. Circa 250-100 BC. Weight of 1/4 Mina (Tetarton) (Bronze, 60x62 mm, 113.00 g). ANTIOXEION / TETAPTON Zebu walking right. Rev. Latticework design. Pondera 3509. Very rare and with a lovely design. Somewhat smoothed, otherwise, very fine.

Auction Leu 2020: It is worth noting that virtually identical weights are known from Seleucia Pieria, albeit with the Zebu walking to the left, suggesting a centralized production by the Seleukid authorities. For a related weight of 1/2 Mina with a horse, see below, lot 1996.
