Archaeological description
Auction CNG 2009: Lead hemimina. Greek, dated Year 105 of the Seleukid Era (208/7 BC). L HEz(ligate) EP/ HMIM/NAION in three lines, each line divided by horizontal bar; below, barley grain between pilei surmounted by stars; all within linear square border / Lattice pattern. VF, brown and gray patina, a few dings. Weight: 267.50 g. VF condition, brown and gray patina, a few dings in the surface.
Auction Nomos 2015: Syro-Palestinian area. 45/4 BC. Weight of 1/2 Mina (Lead, 62×68mm, 127.32 g), S.E. 268. L ΗΞΡ [x]Ρ/ΗΜΙ Μ/ΝΑΙΟΝ Inscription of three lines, each within a rectangular linear frame; below, within a separate rectangle, palm branch between the two caps of the dioscouri; all within a rectangular tablet within high, beveled borders. Rev. Lattice-work pattern. Apparently unpublished , but see lot 129, above, for the basic shape and type. An interesting example with a greyish tan patina as found. Very fine.
