Archaeological description
Auction CNG 2020: Phoenicia, Tyre(?). Late Hellenistic to Roman Imperial Period. Cast PB Mina Weight (64×65mm, 532.80 g, 12h). Tanit symbol and balance symbol above; Phoenician N N – (= 50 shekels) below / Blank. Cf. Elayi and Elayi [1997] 118 and 298; Hendin [2007] 278. Brown patina, divot in obverse. Near VF. Overall height and weight include suspension loop originally cast into weight, which has since compressed when the edge was hammered.
