Archaeological description
Auction Archaeological Center 2018: A Roman lead weight of Herod the agoranomos. Rectangle with pierced tab. Dated: 214 = 153/4 CE. The Greek inscription reads: LΔIΣ EΠI HPΩΔÕ "Year 214 belonging to Herod (who is over the Agora)". On the back: LKB = 22 (drachms). This official was possibly a descendent of one of the Herodian kings. With nice gray patina. In very good condition and very rare. For an identical weight, see: D.
