Archaeological description
BnF: Poids carré. Magnésie d’Ionie. Plomb. L. 3,2; l. 3,2 cm;ép. 0,6 cm; Poids: 56,13 gr. En relief sur une ligne de sol, un cavalier au galop vers la droite, casqué, cuirassé, la lance en arrêt. Au-dessus et en dessous du taureau, MAΓN/EPMOKPATHΣ. Dans un triple cercle ornementé en relief, un taureau en relief sur une ligne de sol. Type monétaire de la Magnésie du Méandre en Ionie.
Babelon & Blanchet 1895: Poids de plomb de Magnésie d’Ionie. plaque 32 x 32 mm. A l’avers, un cavalier au galop se dirigeant vers la droite est représenté casqué, cuirassé, la lance en arrêt. Au revers, un taureau cornupète (?) est représenté à g. Au dessus et en dessous du taureau des inscriptions: ΜΑΓΝ ΕΡΜΟΚΡΑΤΗΣ. Le tout est dans un cercle de méandres (type monétaire de Magnésie du Méandre) [handwritten].
