Archaeological description
Auction CNG 2016: Lead mina weight. Syria, Antioch, dated SE 146 (167/6 BC). Antipatros, magistrate. Female figure standing right; ΑΝΤΙΟΧΕΙΟ[Ν] / ϹΜ–Ρ (date)/ / ΕΠΙ / ΑΝΤΙΠΑΤΡΟΥ / ΜΝΑ across field / Cross-hatch pattern (103×98mm, 507.1g). Cf. Rochesnard p. 60 (for smaller weight with same inscription); cf. Vecchi 13, lot 1338 (same). Fine, beige patina, bent at one corner, light scuff and surfaces crack. Very rare and interesting.
