Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Byzantine weight in bronze; square shape. It shows signs of corrosion with dark green patina and red spots on both sides. On the recto, the letter Α and the monogram for the Greek diphthong ου (as in οὐγκία) are incised to indicate the value of one uncia. The verso is plain. The object is not symmetrical; therefore, its length measures 2 cm from one side and 2.1 cm from the opposite side, and the width measures 2 cm from one side and 2.18 from the opposite side.
