Archaeological description
Froehner: Carré de plomb à patine blanche, poids grec. Salonique, 1908. H et L 28-29 mill. Dans un croissant, légende rétrograde : ΔΕΜΟ (δεμο) δημό(σιον).
BnF: Poids quadrangulaire. Athènes. Plomb. L. 3,1 cm ; l. 2,9 cm ; Poids: 68,5 gr. Ep. 0,8 cm. ΔEM/O. Un croissant. Revers: Incisé. Acquis en 1908.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: small round strokes on and around the crescent and on the left side; groove on the upper right corner and vertical one on the lower center; on the reverse, big groove on the left, stroke on the left edge and bump on the right side, the right edge and upper left corner are slightly flattened. Straight corners, edges and sides. On the obverse, depiction of a crescent in relief. Below the crescent, letters in relief: Δ E M Ο. Round tag on the reverse. (Height without relief: 0.9 cm).
