Archaeological description
Froehner: Poids grec en plomb. H 47 mill. Larg. 43 mill. 𐅂 A Tortue en relief /// 𝈜 τ(έ)τα[ρτον]
BnF: Poids quadrangulaire. Athènes. Plomb. L. 4,3 cm ; l. 4,6 cm ; Poids: 236 gr. Ep. 1,14 cm (1,62 avec le relief). T-A. Une tortue ; au pourtour, une bordure en relief.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: chippings; little stroke on the tortoise's head; on the reverse, light horizontal grooves and one bigger vertical on the left edge, the upper and right edges are slighlty flattened; small stroke on the left corner on the lower side. The upper corners are slightly rounded and slightly raised; the lower corners are rounded and the lower left one is slightly flattened; straight edges and sides. On the obverse, little frame and depiction of a tortoise in relief. There are dots on the tortoise's shell and a rim around it, four little dots for its legs and a bigger one for its head. In the four corners, letters in relief: T [E] T A. (Height without relief: 1.1 cm).
