Archaeological description
Froehner: Poids (athénien ?) en bronze, avec encoche. L 47 mill. Poids actuel : 76 gr 80. Deux amphores poinçonnées. Revers: IWA nota ponderalis ?
BnF: Poids forme anthropomorphe? Athènes (?) Bronze. L. 4,7 cm. ; l. 3, 076 cm ; ep.: 1,061 cm ; Poids: 76,8 gr. Poids avec encoche, deux amphores poinçonnées. Revers: Monogramme gravé à la pointe, inscription fruste (nota ponderalis ?).
Autoptic examination: Bronze weight, anthropomorphic shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: bumpy surface; small strokes and hollows, bigger stroke on the right edge on the reverse. On the obverse, incised (or countermarked?) depictions: two amphoras one on top of the other (or a facing owl above a kalathos? (or a cicada?)). On the reverse, incised signs: ΛΑ (?).
