Archaeological description
BnF: Poids carré. Grèce ou Asie Mineure. Pierre [erreur]. L. 5,4 cm ; l. 5 cm ; ép. 1,6 cm; Poids: 300 gr. Une amphore dans un carré creux ; au pourtour, une bordure en relief. Large incision sur la panse de l'amphore et sur la tranche gauche.
Babelon & Blanchet 1895 [hanwritten]: Poids de forme carrée Une face est décorée d’une amphore. Le revers est lisse.
Autoptic examination: Lead weight, square shape. Signs of wear and corrosion: big stroke and hollow on the amphora's body, on the frame on the left and lower edges and on the upper right corner; light cuts on and around the amphora; chippings and small strokes on the reverse; big groove and hollow on the left side; horizontal bump on the right side and bump (from the stroke on the frame) on the lower side. Rounded corners; straight edges and slightly concave sides; the reverse is slightly domed and a bit flattened on the left. On the obverse, frame and depiction of an amphora in relief. The amphora's rim is large and its neck is small. The handles extend to the rim. In the four corners, letters in relief: Δ H Μ̣ Ο. (Height without relief: 1.3 cm).
