Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Christian Byzantine weight in bronze; circular shape with two grooves all around the edge. It shows some signs of corrosion, with green patina, red spots and incrustations, particularly on the verso. The verso is plain, except for a ring a few mm from the edge; the recto is decorated with a circular garland and, in the centre, a cross and the letters Γ Γ. The latter indicate the denomination of the weight, that is, 3 ounces. The diameter of the disc is 3.5 cm.
