Archaeological description
Roman bronze counterweight in the shape of lid with large ring for suspension. It shows signs of wear and corrosion. From the bottom, one can see the junction of the ring surrounded by lead. The object was probably part of a larger weight.

According to Museum records (Notizie Scavi), the piece was found in 1890 in an archaeological excavation campaign, led by E. Brizio, near Claterna (Bologna), along the Via Aemilia.
