Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman lead counterweight in the shape of amphora. The object shows signs of wear and corrosion; it is slightly deformed and thus curved. The amphora has a thin neck, to which lateral handles are attached, and a pronounced belly; the base is a small flat button. The top has a ring for suspension, which is slightly pressed and deformed. The diameter measures: 3.1 cm (belly), and 1.8 cm (bottom disk); the neck is 2.2 cm large and 1 cm wide; at the top, the rim is 2.2 cm large and 1.9 cm wide.

The weight was anonymously donated to the Museum in 1984 and was found in a rural area by Claterna (Bologna), along the Via Aemilia.
