Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman lead weight in the shape of a truncated sphere. The piece is heavily worn, with dents and deep cuts over the entire surface; it also presents evident signs of corrosion, so that the body appears badly damaged and deformed. On one base is the Roman numeral II, made of two bars of different metal (iron ?) inserted into the lead; however, only one metal bar remains and, beside it, one can see the depression where the second bar was inserted. The base diameter measures 2.7 cm; the other base seems larger, but is too damaged to allow any precise measurement. The diameter of the sphere is 4.8 cm.
