Additional comment
According to Museum records (Notizie Scavi 1890, p. 107), the weight was donated to the Museum by Mr. Corrado Ricci in 1890, who found it in a rural area by the village of Ozzano (Bologna), south of Via Aemilia, between the streams Quaderna and Niccoló.
Notizie Scavi records that the lower base of the weight presents incised dots forming the letter S. These, however, are not visible for the old inventory label covers them.
