Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman basalt weight in the shape of a truncated sphere; dark colour, well-polished. It shows little sign of wear, with only minor scratches along the round body and on the lower base; the edges of the bases are well defined. On the lower base, six incised dots are still visible; there might have been more, but it is not possible to tell with certainty because the surface is damaged. The diameter of the sphere is 8.1 cm; the diameter of the upper base is 5.4 cm and that of the lower base is 5.5 cm.
