Archaeological description
Hexagonal in form with raised edge ; on the top, there is a loop and a slot for loop. The weight is filled with lead. On the top, in relief, it reads « dirham 50» in Ottoman script. On the bottom, two stamps, one is rectangular, the other is circular. By the introduction of the new metric in H. 1299 (1882/83) during the reign of Abdulhamid II, dirham was equated with gram (1.00g.)
