Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman bronze weight in the shape of a truncated sphere. The piece is heavily corroded; its surface is rather coarse, with incrustations and green patina all over the body. The lower base is concave and presents one dot incised in the centre, which has been partially erased due to corrosion. On the upper base, the Roman numeral I is incised to indicate the denomination of the weight - that is, one Libra. The diameter of the sphere is 4.4 cm; the diameter of the lower base is 2.7 cm and that of the upper base is 2.4 cm.
