Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman bronze weight in the shape of a truncated sphere. The piece shows signs of corrosion and wear. The lower base presents one dot in the centre, which is almost erased due to corrosion. The upper base is concave; here, there are two incised letters, separated by a dot: these are a Λ and an A, and indicate the denomination of the weight – one Libra. The diameter of the sphere is 3.75 cm; the diameter of the upper base is 2.1 cm and that of the lower base is 2.2 cm.
