Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman bronze weight in the shape of a truncated sphere. The piece shows some signs of corrosion and the surface appears rather coarse. A dot is incised in the centre of the lower base and it indicates the denomination of the weight: it is an Uncia, corresponding to 1/12 of a Libra. Beside the dot, there are some dents, probably caused by corrosion. The upper base is plain. The diameter of the sphere is 1.7 cm; the diameter of the upper base is 1.15 cm and that of the lower base is 1.3 cm.
