Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman bronze weight in the shape of a truncated sphere and corresponding to three ounces (quadrans). The piece shows signs of wear and corrosion: there are some scratches, and the entire surface appears coarse and oxidized. The upper base is slightly depressed and its edge is in relief; the lower base presents a dot incised in the centre, and, around the edge, two circular, concentric lines are scratched (the external one is only partially visible, due to corrosion). The diameter of the sphere is 2.5 cm; the diameter of the upper base is 1.7 cm, and that of the lower base is 1.6 cm.
