Autoptic examination:
Roman basalt weight in the shape of a truncated sphere; dark colour, well-polished. It is in good conditions, except for one dent on the edges of both bases; the latter are well defined. The upper base is incised with three dots arranged to form a triangle; they indicate the denomination of the weight: it is a quadrans, corresponding to three ounces; the lower base is plain. The diameter of the sphere is 3.95 cm; the diameter of the upper base is 2.7 cm and that of the lower base is 2.9 cm.
