Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman basalt weight in the shape of a truncated sphere; it is heavily worn, with dents and scratches all over the body. In the centre of the upper base, dots are incised in the shape of an S (some of them are not clearly visible because of depressions on the surface of the weight caused by wear). The edges of the bases are damaged by dents. The diameter of the sphere is 4.9 cm; the diameter of the upper base measures 2.9 cm, and that of the lower base measures 3.4 cm.
