Archaeological description
Glass weight. Disc. Colour (Farbe): dunkelblau. Iconography: Wreath: inscription. One imperial bust.
CPAI III/2: 7th century AD. Eastern Mediterranean. Weight for a gold coin (solidus/20 carat). Glass, 25 x 5 mm; 3.20 g. Inv. no. PMA 2863. Acquired in 2007. Description: Dark-blue coloured round weight with a central impression. The highly stylized bust has no insignia indicating its status. The inscription around the bust is weathered and illegible. Light-weight solidi of 20 carat with an actual mass of about 3.20 g are known from the time of Heraclius and Constans II.
