Archaeological description
Glass weight. Disc. Nur noch zur Hälfte erhalten. Colour (Farbe): grün. Iconography: No cross. No wreath.
CPAI III/2: 1st half of the 7th century AD. Eastern Mediterranean Weight for a gold coin (solidus?). Glass, 25.5 x 4 mm; 2.30 g. Inv. no. PMA 2858. Acquired in 2007. Description: Pale-green coloured round weight with a central impression. Only the lower half is conserved. The cruciform monogram is composed of the letters M on the left, Ο at the bottom, E on the right and Θ in the centre. The missing upper part of the monogram contained the letters T and V. The monogram can be resolved as TIMΟΘEOV. A monogram of this type occurs on a lead seal which can be dated to the first half of the 7th century.
