Archaeological description
Autoptic examination:
Roman basalt weight; black colour; well-polished. The piece is in very good conditions, with only minor scratches; the edges of the upper and lower bases are well delineated. The diameter of the lower base is 2.95 cm, while diameter of the upper base is 2.8 cm.
An inscription is carved along the round body of the weight, and three letters and five dots are on the lower base. The letters appear to be old Italic, perhaps Etruscan.
