Autoptic examination:
Square lead weight. Central boss in relief on one face; around the boss, there were probably letters in relief, now erased. The other face is plain, and the sides present decorative grooves. The object shows signs of wear and some corrosion, with white patina.

British Museum acquisition notes: purchased from C. Sawas (dealer/auction house). Sold a number of antiquities to the British Museum in 1893-1898 which had reported provenances ranging from North Africa to Greece and the Near East.
